Default FDX- Jump seating MEM-DEN

Thinking of moving to the Front Range and wondering how hard it is to Jump seat from Memphis to Denver?

one of the busiest j/s we have. Between 250 - 300 Fedex pilots commute from COS - DEN and western KS and southern WY

Very tough indeed, but worth it for life in Colorado.

Make sure to book your jumpseat right at the 14 days prior (a lot of senior guys go by that good rule )

But if you're a junior guy (i.e. your employee number starts with a crooked digit) you have to wait until 7 days prior.

Very hard and expensive indeed! Jumpseat is never available for the 2 seats on a crew rest plane. United and Delta only provide a total of 2 flights a day to Memphis anymore so you have to leave home 2-3 days early to commute in or you have to buy a ticket (This allows for maintaining a good excuse for the extra time in Memphis for the second girlfriend). Also liberal Colorado has a nice 10% income tax. You cant have guns anymore out here either... Oh yeah the ramp manager hates pilots, so you most likely cant park at the ramp....(have fun hiking from the Employee parking lot in the snow). Plus every GOC employee or pilot who want to go skiing suck up whatever jumpseats are there (funny how many "annual ride alongs" happen on this route).

Just my 2 cents.... If I were you, I'd stay in Omaha Ne....Much better lifestyle there...
