Default FDX Contract... Still have the 5 year rule?

All...

With the recent contract award, I'd heard that FDX was to ask the gov't to change the 5 year rule wrt overseas/expat pilots.

Can I ask some of you Fedex guys if you know if this was changed or was it left status quo or.....???

Thanks

Kap

That's a EU thing. HKG domiciled pilots have no such limitation. I have no idea if any request was made or if it was changed.

You sure we're not talking about the 5 year US residency requirement to get hired?

Not sure either way. I'd keep an eye on the Requirements page on the application site. They updated the FEX-W requirements quickly when they changed them a bit back.

Yeah I'm pretty sure subicpilot just misunderstood the question.

Ya, sorry guys, I guess I was not so clear.

I was indeed talking about the 5 year restriction of having to live in the US before being able to fly the USPS. I'd heard FDX was going to ask to have that section removed.

I'll check out the hiring page....

Thanks

Kap

I doubt it's changed. It's not their requirement but the US govt. I seem to remember filling out some government form when I was hired 9 years ago.

I also heard that when they started hiring there was a new hire that was hired and the Company believed meet this requirement but was later unable to class up because FEDEX was wrong.

Probably not what you wanted to hear. But that is the best I know. And like everything at FEDEX, it may or may not be true! But I heard it on the crew bus so surely.....
