Default Weather problems???

Are cargo airlines any less likely to cancel a flight due to weather? I only ask because supposedly "all flights are cancelled" here in STL, however both sort shifts are starting early tonight.

Furthermore, How badly does freezing rain or sleet tear up turbofan/jet engines?

All I know is that there have been many times in Memphis when all flights were cancelled, but we flew anyway. Seems like the only thing that stops us is when the airport is closed.

Apparently you weren't working during the ice-pellet festival last winter.

FDX and UPS will likely have some cancellations and delays from this storm as well. Was it last year or the year before last that the hubs got hit with that ice storm that left cans frozen to the ramp?

Be safe guys and gals!
