Fdx - iPad questions
#31
Off thread a bit, or maybe a lot...I got my shiny new iPad the other day. Got it configured successfully. I can view a FP/R/Weather in Safari but is there a way to save all that so that I can look at it without wi-fi. On my Mac I can simply go to the print function and then save as a pdf. Is there an equivalent option on the iPad?

Anyway, once you have the FPR up, select print for the FPR like you normally do. The printed version will open and then you can click the little send to icon and save the FPR, WX, route plot, etc.

When you open the document in Safari, you should briefly get a black bar at the top that has a couple buttons offering to open in other apps. As in the previous post, GoodReader, Documents, iBooks, Adobe Acrobat all will be offered as options, as well as others, I'm sure, if you have them installed. If the bar disappears before you tap a button, tapping in the middle of the document will bring it up again. I believe that this is available with any page that you pull up in Safari that is not a web page, e.g. a PDF, Word document, text file, etc.

Got the flight plan to load, decoded weather, and most other stuff pretty easy to figure out. However, what about frequencies at FIRs, etc? Anyone got gouge on where/how/if that info can be called up on Jepp app? (I know--should read user guide...)

What's wrong with a ball note if there's a mandatory call? The old paper jepps had them....

Easiest trick I've found was to use chrome browser Once the fpr is opened You hit print and then tell it to Goto my free google drive. I have the google drive app Installed on the company iPad. When You open it in google Drive you can easily select the route to copy and paste Into the Jepp app.

I do not know about the ipad, but on the efb, if you hit details, then touch the little blue box with an "i" on it next to the fir boundary, the comm and ball notes come up.
