Grady - next time definitely give Adam a call, he can usually arrange a prep for you within 24 hours of notifying him; if he's flying he'll ask his friend to do the prep in CVG.

I hope you'll get a second chance; a friend was shot down more than 2 years ago and he can't seem to get that call. He's been flying MD11s now for almost 2 years but still no call, I hope he and you will get a second chance.

Grady, you can get a second interview and you can can hired. These are facts. I suggest that you keep trying and use the time until you next call to get yourself prepared. I know of guys with little expeirence that have been hired. If you did not prepare for the interview with a prep. I suggest that next time you do. Don't let the sim be the reason that they don't hire you. I personally recommend A. Hughs just like many others on here. I recieved a call for my interview thirty days after I applied and of course I wasn't ready so while they wanted me in the following week I explained that with my commitments at work it would be impossible for me to prepare in that little time. I explained that this interview was important to me and that I would need a couple more weeks. They understood and agreed. I spent the time reviewing and I did the interview prep with Adam. I recieved a pool letter a week after the interview.

If it is what you truly want don't give up hope take this time to prepare and be ready when they call you the second time.

Good Luck and Happy Holidays to all!!!

Happily Swimming.....

Come on Grady......did we give up when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no, and we're not going to start now!

Here's a word I want you to become familiar with......confidence. A person that does not project confidence in an interview is a dead duck.....especially when interviewing for a job as a pilot. Did you ever meet someone new for the first time? You know, the guy that has a limp handshake, doesn't make eye contact, looks at the ground, doesn't smile and engage you, mumbles or doesn't speak clearly/loud enough? Interviewers meet this guy a lot....I'm sure of it. They immediately have a negative impression that is almost impossible to overcome during the course of an interview...no matter how good this guy looks on his resume. The HR lady thinks he is some milktoast guy with zero confidence that doesn't fit in with the company culture, and the pilot interviewer is thinking that he is a nerd/dork that he wouldn't want to go out on the road with for 7 days. Keep in mind that this all happened in the first 10 seconds of introductions between the players. My point to you is, don't be that guy! Don't be him at the interview, and don't be him when searching for a pilot job, or any job really. Ok, pep talk is over for now. Geez, maybe I ought to open up my own interview prep service!

Bottom line.......it's going to be up to you to go out there, and get that job/interview. Make it happen! Network...meet some people at Brown, ask your UPS friend to take you on a tour of a sort facility....anything to meet some more people that just might be able to help you. Last, but certainly not least, lose the negative vibes. Don't worry about "military heavy drivers" out there fighting for the same job. You got the interview once, and I'm sure that you can do it again. Ok, pep talk is really over this time. Good luck

I'm still waiting for a phone call telling me where to deposit my bodily fluids for the drug screen. I think I'll get a class date shortly after.
