That's right have a whole bunch of guys typed on the airplanes ready at a moments notice to do revenue flying if we ever have to go on strike... This not only takes away flying historically done by seniority pilots.. It further weakens the threat of any work stoppage!!

So the company says we are overstaffed but wants to hire non-seniority based management level pilots to do Part 91 flying?
Also don't I remember something in the company openers about wanting non-seniority based pilots to do revenue flying as well?
Sounds like they are trying hard to turn us into UPS!!

Every time I transit ANC there is a 757 or A300 working its way to asia via part 91 for either Maint. or revenue service. These flights are usually being done by 2 sr. flex guys both getting widebody pay and flying under the rules of out CBA. Which means a 1st class ticket back. That is what they are trying to stop.
Now they get off the street capts they can pay him half and buy him a coach ticket back to states or if the get the JS set up the way they want they can DH him back on a 777 or MD.
I am not sure why someone would do that when you can get a SR number with delta airlines in the next year or so.

They want TPS grads with 1000 hours PIC in type..... I'm sure they're out there, but I'm not sure they'll be cheap... Not to live in Memphis and jumpseat to Sing twice a month.
And don't forget... MX usually shuts down over peak and the test guys go fly freight. These guys will sit in a cube, work on "projects" (ie Tetris) and get paid not to fly.
And think of the sim rides to keep them current....can't PDO bump like the current guys.....
