But it's not rocket science. Early retirements would mean more people drawing a retirement check. While, at the same time, they would have to hire more pilots that would equate to even more retirement eligible pilots in the future.
Look at what happen to Delta before they went BK. The early retirement option, with half as cash, created a stampede for the door that sucked over $2 Billion out of the company in 6 months. Great deal for those that left and upgrades were sped up.
But... That and the money taken by executives via exit bonuses pulled them into BK. Me thinks our A plan would suffer in BK

That's is what drives me nuts I think. They seem to feel the need to justify their staying. Maybe they just feel guilty for not finishing under the rules they started under. Maybe they are sad there is not life outside of work....who knows, but It is comical to say the least. I think a great deal of them are living paycheck to paycheck as was brought up earlier. Hey they say the longer you work, the less time you live after retirement....I guess that just helps to insure our money will be there when the time comes.

Quit wasting your energy on what I or others choose to do with our own lives. You will have the opportunity to make your live decisions later in life. Till then, wait till you have walked a mile in others shoes before you cast stones OR let it drive you crazy. Live your own life and enjoy it. And quit worrying about what others do that you have absolutely no control over.
As for the pick a side comment earlier....well I know the side I am on. It is the side of the crew force, just because I choose to see the humor in something, does not mean I do not know which side I am on. I have apologized for any perceived slight that I might have caused; if that is not good enough..... then lighten up.
