At least Delta pilots land at the right airport, if not the right bit of pavement!;)

Lol.

I take it you're a somewhat young pilot. (Senior Skipper? Really?)

Thank God we have you Cessna 152 "heavy iron" guys to explain it all to us...

The ATC tape I've heard start with him saying he's on a "Vi...RNAV GPS approach 19L". So it sounds like he was officially on an IFR approach but was actually on a visual. If they had entered the approach in the FMC and it was displayed on the Nav Display, one wonders how they got it wrong. After landing the pilot talks to McConnel tower to try and figure out where they are. From the level of confusion in the pilots voice, fatigue seems like a likely culprit here.

Here is the tape: https://soundcloud.com/producermatth...-4241-lands-at

Did Atlas hire the same C17 guys that did the same thing while trying to find MacDill AFB?

Lol.

Wasn't Delta the subject of the late night comedians for years?

- "Enjoy the inflight movies ... on the airplane next to you" (after an Oceanic Nav Error)

- "Kid will love the inflatable slides"

I personally heard a discussion between Delta and Gander Control when Delta checked in radar contact westbound to JFK, "Delta, say airspeed ... mach .80, But Delta you were assigned to cruise at M.82 for the crossing ... No sir, my company flight plan says M.80?"

- LANDED AT WRONG AIRPORT

This was all in the "old days" when Delta pilots thought they walked on water (and didn't have reciprocal jumpseat privileges?)

Those Delta guys sure were good

Actually, many on this website (myself included) wonder if MEMdouche is even a pilot. Our ...?

A wise pilot will never say, "That can't happen to me."

You're not the only one...not defending the Asiana crew, but it bears thought.
