And its a sorer spot for me, who IS eligible to park there under federal law that I might have to explain myself for parking where the ADA said I can park to someone who is not a licensed physician.

So, unless you want to hobble a mile in my shoes, and are the well of all known medical knowledge (which I doubt), then why dont you grab a nice cup of Sierra Tango Foxtrot Uniform by the popcorn machine in the AOC. There are some medical issues which are on display sporadically - which if you were the well of all known medical knowledge, you would already know that.

Believe me, there is nothing I would love more than to be able to walk from the farthest spot in the CTC parking lot.

It does leave a distinct impression they are next going to track the number of sheets we use per wipe. Could a monthly limit be close behind.

I see what you did there.

Touché!

Since you have "real" handicapped people in your family, I would think you would be more sensitive to "imaginary" handicapped people.

There's no such thing as "obviously not handicapped." While some handicaps are obvious to casual observers, many are not. I guess that's what you would call a "not real" handicap. Do some people abuse the parking privilege? Sure. That's still not a reason for us to abuse the people who use it legitimately just because we can't see their handicap.

I believe that what Stratosphere was saying, at least my interpretation of what he was saying, was that he, (like the vast majority of us), is totally turned off by someone taking a handicapped spot, when they are not handicapped at all. He's not passing judgement on someone whose condition might require them to park in a handicapped spot, regardless of whether the look handicapped or not. Nor is he asking them to explain their situation to either himself, or anyone else. He's simply annoyed at those who have gotten the sticker, even though they are really not entitled to one. You must admit, it happens a lot. I see it quite often at the LA Fitness I go to. Someone will pull up and park in a handicapped spot, then saunter into the gym and do a 2 hour, hard workout. Regardless of their car's entitlement, if they are that healthy, they should be leaving those spaces for someone who really does need them.

Anyway, that's how I see it.

Happy Holidays to All Y'all.

It sounds to me like he's judging from appearance whose condition merits the placard/sticker. Not everyone who should have one has a wheelchair, walker, or a limp.

And not everyone with a handicap sticker needs one. It plays both ways. You all are all right. Can't we all get along?

Is there really that many people using handicap parking in the Democrat lot?

I've learned through the years that handicapped parking spots aren't for the handicapped, they're for vehicles that have handicapped plates, stickers or mirror tags.

Do tell Tony ... please tell us about these "not so obvious" handicaps?

Maybe high blood pressure? Low vision? Could a pilot fly with ANY of these?

I can see it now ... pilots being led out to the airplanes by seeing eye dogs!*?
