This process is not instantaneous.
This is kinda funny. You keep saying we don't understand how it works when it's you who don't understand what I am saying.

"Listening to their BS" is negotiating in good faith, on our end. They aren't listening to us. They aren't coming to the table with a reasonable position. They want concessions, period. It's such a broken record you have to think they are stalling or trying to subvert the process.

I am merely looking at where this is going to end on it's current trajectory. You don't seem ready to plan for the end game. You should.

And they would tell the mediator the exact same thing. They aren't listening to us, we offered them a 20% raise and still they refuse to discuss "industry standard" scheduling practices.

And yes they are stalling, why would they want a contract?

So?

what else is new in airline contract negotiations?

Some of you are acting like this is some new/different tactic than any airline management has ever perpetrated before in contract negotiations.

It is nothing new!! I'm not insulted by it. I EXPECT it from airline management - they usually do not disappoint.

We have an "industry-leading" contract NOW - that doesn't contain PBS - that is in force NOW - until/unless WE agree to amend it.

We haven't even been in "formal negotiations" again for a full year yet.

Management is the party who has reneged on the "bridge" contract concept & is now stalling - another broken promise - another reason we have little trust in anything they do.

Our negotiators are doing everything they can legally do to expedite the process & close the deal - but, the system is set up so that either party can at least attempt to control the pace.

Management walks a fine line (in the eyes of an arbitrator - some day - down the road) between negotiating in good faith & blatantly abandoning the bridge/expedited/interim discussions format that they agreed to pursue - and instead dragging out the process by steadfastly clinging to unreasonable proposals that our union leadership & membership have clearly stated will not ratify (PBS)

we will find out in short order whether or not PBS is still on the table - & then proceed accordingly.

meanwhile save your spare change in the unlikely event there's rain in the forecast.
