Well it's 135, so SICs don't require a type rating.
The SIC type has also been (or will be) removed from the FARs altogether, so going forward it will either be PIC or nothing.
Someone else is better qualified to say whether ACC will issue a PIC type for new hires, but bear in mind that you need to meet certain minimums to train for a PIC type in a simulator.

There has been no such removal of 61.56 nor has there been a NPRM to remove it. Long and short, SIC types, in 121 might not exist, but they will most certainly remain for Part 91 flying.

OK cool. How about the shorts type rating? PIC or SIC type??
