Default Reserve level question

How many folks out there have been told that they cannot get levelled after recurrent training session, when the training happened on top of scheduled R days ? I just read the applicable sections of CBA and it says we are supposed to get levelling ...............

call Contract enforcement. Lodge a compliant, and don't rest until you hear that they have filed in the labor relations board. Dave Taylor has done this for a few issues for me, and Rose should too. (not that you'll guarantee a win), but it must be documented to start the case. If not the company chalks it up as precedent, so the next and all subsequent guys get shafted as it is now "the way" (you set the unchallenged precedent) and was never grieved.

If you had a vto, and the days were R-days in the vto you're SOL. Even tho the contract reads favorably, the company has found precedent to not honor it for vto holders that have R-days in their vto line.

Thanks Olly ........... Bad news from contract enforcement , lots of excuses regarding contract language , designed to cause confusion and irritation ......... You cannot believe the answers I got on this ........... Forget bidding reserve , not worth the hassle with a training month

And, to think, something magically positive (according to the company) is supposed to happen with contract language and interpretation if they get PiBS! Joke would be on us!

CBA Sec 4.H.2 - "If a reserve pilot’s R-day(s) is removed for vacation or training, other than initial, transition, upgrade (ITU) training, an R-day value shall be credited toward his leveling and RLG for each R-day removed."

Seems pretty clear to me. Keep pressing them. This one should be easy...but it won't be.

That describes most of the messages from Contract Administration. I call them the Ministry of Propaganda.

PIBS, and Secondary Line instructions, include "facts" that are often preposterous assertions.

I think they believe that saying them over and over will make them true!

Do you mean on a scheduled Rday or Rdays were dropped to protect min days off or in addition to all your Rdays?
I had this happen last month basically since we now bid for training days it is treated like a CIC and you do not get leveled in some cases. Rose explained it too me it is convoluted but in a nut shell you are not leveled in some cases.
