Funny, I was just there and nobody asked me my occupation or employer?

It's part of AME HI - the Apc ModErator Hospitality Initiative. Driving people away with insults means fewer posts to moderate.

Internet Brands would be proud. I'm sure John and Paul are.

Yeah, I was kinda thinking he's a bit harsh for a moderator. Quis custodiet ipsos custodes, and all that. Maybe APC needs a Hawtch-Hawtcher Watcher (hat tip: Dr. Suess).

I think you guys are confusing USMCFDX with USMCFLYR. USMCFDX is not a moderator.

Why so many questions, Jimmy? What's your angle? Motive? I work here, and I don't even care.
A great question? Hardly. Why your such a dork would have been better, the answers more entertaining.
Oh. I'm sorry. Am I driving you away?
Squirt me some tears!
And yes, I'm a joy to fly with, but why so many of you worry about that is as ridiculous as Jimmy's curiosity.
Now get back to work unreal pilots freight dogs.

You're right. You know they all look alike, act alike, ...

I'm sorry, USMCFDX, I should not have accused you of being a Moderator. Inhospitable, yes, Moderator, no.

Politeness must just be out of fashion.

It does seem close to Memphis, but originally they wanted a second Domestic Hub to be in St. Louis but the City passed on that as TWA was doing ok at the time. The idea there was that St. Louis and Memphis were so close they could flex the system either way, and/or truck easily between the two hubs. Indy stepped up after St. Louis turned them down.

Simply put, it was started as a reliever for Memphis, but has grown to be a sizeable hub, especially on the night side. Memphis is maxed out on the night side with room for growth only on the day side. I've heard that someday Indy may grow as large as Memphis but who knows. Indy is mostly Domestic but does have some International Flights.

Compared to the Pax side of the industry, it does seem odd to have a hub so close to another but it works on the cargo side. We actually have a really nice small Hub in Dallas/Fort Worth at Alliance. At one time there were a fair amount of flights there, was pulled back and has grown again, but is a shadow of itself. I don't know why it isn't used more, I've heard various reasons such as NAFTA to its proximity to Memphis.
Tyvm OKLATEX for explaining that.

I am not a pilot, just an aviation geek. I'm curious and interested to learn about how things work. There is no angle other than just plain unadulterated curiosity and interest. Perhaps if you're in the profession it's not a big deal, but my day job is rather dull, and aviation is something that excites me. When I'm into something I like to learn as much as possible about it.

A great question? Hardly.
I never claimed my question was "great". I didn't even know that was a requirement for starting a thread.

Really, I didn't expect such backlash from a seemingly harmless thread.

And why do you have 2 handles here Anthrax/USMCFDX? Do you enjoy harassing people in double time?

James,

Lighten up Francis, it wasn't personal. It's what pilots do. Especially here.
