The SEIU emblem can be nicely sharpied to a W.

I get it. A lanyard isn't going to get a contract done. In fact, there is no single magic bullet. It requires a concerted effort and shared pain by a significant majority of the group.

And yes - I am willing to go without a check. I have been furloughed and had airline jobs vaporize during my career. I understand that life goes on and I am not beholden to FDX to produce happiness or success in my life. If the job cannot be maintained at a level that makes it a good job, then what exactly is the point of coddling and capitulating to keep it?

Nobody is refusing to join the fight over a lanyard, the lanyard has no real meaning, but make no mistake about the fantasy of lumping us in with the SEIU and pretending they are helping us.

That won't fly, anyone who thinks it will doesn't understand their real situation.

This is about a contract between two parties, not the brotherhood of man or the unity of an odd assortment of lunatics outside our sphere and hostile to our goals.

Default I'd rather not wear my lanyard in public, but

Quite frankly I think this entire SEIU discussion is rather silly but I am in favor of starting to show our unhappiness with the pace of contract negotiations publically. History has shown that Management REALLY doesn't like negotiating in public. The FULL PAGE USA TODAY ad seemed to get their attention.

I've attended 4 functions during the last 6 weeks where I might have worn my ALPA lanyard. One ALPA seminar, one ISASI dinner with a guest speaker, an FAA seminar and a research simulator at an FAA think tank.

Does FedEx really want me "preaching" CONTRACT NOW, IT'S TIME! to the entire industry? I'd MUCH rather we agreed on a new contract.

Seems like we're not all that far apart.

Either way, they sent us a defective product and should replace it for free. I doubt the intent was to get a group of mostly Republicans to wear a "Go Hillary" emblem. Though she's been looking pretty nifty in those pantsuits lately.

Until then, magic marker!
SEIU 252 is the union representing the workers who made those lanyards. Unions that don't support unions are bound to FAIL.

Remember Overnight Freight? Other unions crossed their picket lines for years and when all said and done, both LOST.

If you hate Obama leave it at that, stay focused on the purpose of your union that being to promote a fair and equtible workplace for all. If you dont stay focused you will be the biggest loser. It will be a ripple effect across the entire American workplace.

ALPA isn't the strongest arm in the fight.. they have sold out just the same.

Please move along with your logic - there is only room for rhetoric here.

Our goal must be greater than airline contracts. By refusing to wear a lanyard, we can affect a change in balance of power in the Senate as well as causing a special Presidential election. Refusal to wear a lanyard will also result in welfare and entitlement reform and increased military spending.

Make no mistake, Vladimir Putin is carefully watching the lanyard situation. Lanyard = annexed Ukraine. No lanyard = Russian pullback.

This is but one very minor example as to why we must stand against this lanyard tyranny!

"SEIU 252 is the union representing the workers who made those lanyards."

And how do you know that? Did you order the lanyards? Then maybe you can explain it to us. How do you know that this wasn't purely a printing error?

Do your own research like I did.

I did and as a result don't want to be lumped in with SEIU, UAW, AFL-CIO, Teamsters or any other criminal organization with a history of RICO convictions.

That isn't the kind of help or image we need or want.
