That isn't the kind of help or image we need or want.
The only image that matters is the one we project to the board and the company negotiators. I would like them to believe that we are Hannibal Lector. Intelligent, rational, reasonable..............until we're not.

What did you do, call them and ask if they made your lanyard? I doubt they're open on the weekend, and on Memorial Day. Since you don't care to share your "research", it would be a pretty good guess that you actually didn't do any.

[QUOTE=flyboy32;1651802][B]SEIU 252 is the union representing the workers who made those lanyards. Unions that don't support unions are bound to FAIL.

Unions have supported Democrats since the beginning. Today, those Democrats are pushing to close down coal mines (filled with union mine workers). They delay the construction of pipelines (pipe fitters, construction workers unions). They have effectively reduced the amount of federal lands open for oil exploration and development (unionized oil workers). They have worked to prevent new oil refineries to be constructed. And unionized GM, rescued by taxpayer dollars, is moving production to China.

I think a very important distinction is to be drawn between private and public unions. While there is a symbiotic relationship between many private unions and the Democrat Party, there is a truly insidious relationship between public unions that fund public officials who, in return, approve all manner of benefits and pay increases. Public servants should be absolutely prohibited from unionizing since it is so susceptible to corruption. Beyond this corruption, union members develop a mob mentality when they are challenged. Consider the violent conduct of Wisconsin teachers; these are supposed to be educated and civil individuals. They did millions of dollars of damage to the State House in their infantile rampage in response to taxpayer frustration. It's time to outlaw public unions. Unlike private unions, public unionization is on the upswing. We need to kill them off. When you consider that many members retire in their 50's on pensions that amount to 50% to 80% of their salary, they literally live like millionaires at taxpayer expense. How many private sector employees are getting $50k to $80k per year, and more, and what kind of nest egg would you need to throw off that much annual income?

Like ALPA is negotiating great contracts for you. Seems they are in ka-hoots with management. ALPA keeps pace with the race to the bottom very well.

ALPA didn't do much to expose the plight of the pilot group at EIA. They let Dell Smith just walk all over them.

That may be true, but they have no criminal convictions yet, and it is rather far fetched to claim Fedex/UPS are anywhere near the bottom.

Last I checked no union was actually paying anything at all to the vast majority of us.

90% of unions are a very poor example and image for the 10% doing their job properly.

First the guy you are talking to is not ALPA. Next if you want an anti union thread start your own.

Gents,
How 'bout we make this simple..... Wear the new lanyard. Cover, don't cover the stuff at the bottom. Show the company we are fed up with getting our chain yanked. And last but not least, put an end to this thread.
Uncle

This thread started out Anti-Union. I guess you also will not vote for local/state and national candidates based on their union bug on their material.

ALPA is the one who hired this done so take up the SEIU issue with them. Wear the darn lanyards and make a stand or go find new occupations cause everyone in America is getting devalued right up to the people below you who are your greatest support.
