JH seem perfectly content to make ATSG just an a/c dry leasing and MRO.
I just heard that DHL is going to announce they are taking bids for CMI operator on 13 767s. Anyone want to guess where those are coming from? (Quote)
I don't think ABX will be able to keep any of the remaining 767s unless the pilot group considers concessions at this point. DHL has ABX right where they want them and Atlas standing ready and willing to gain the remaining aircraft next year. The 1224 EXCO is not to blame here, they want the company to continue so their pensions are secure. The blame here lies solely with JH and his inability to play well with others (DHL). ATSG shareholders should question his failed leadership and loss of shareholder value as the business withers away.

Ready, fire, aim conspiracy theory drivel. Unfortunate situations such as this will always bring out the must blame someone mentality.
I would normally not give first posts such as these the time of day. But in the 1% chance that you're not a troll, do you care to provide evidence to your reckless accusations on Atlas' Exco?
Look, I feel your pain and have been there myself. I sincerely hope that all ABXers land on their feet. But posts such as yours is nothing but a disservice to your brethren.

Each time a bid has gone out for 767 work it has gone to Atlas, even before Atlas had a 767 certificate.
Abx pilots did fund a war chest for future necessity. 1224 wanted control of that money. It has been in dispute and I do not know where it stands now. But, an attempt was made to get control of the money by leadership that had no financial assets vested in it.
From the 1224 correspondence: “DHL won no lower costs on this contract off the backs of the pilots.”
This is misleading. DHL will have new hires at the bottom of the Atlas list flying the same work previously flown by more senior Abx pilots (Atlas union brethren as you put it). That lowers cost for somebody- ultimately DHL.
The Southern deal was signed off by the 1224 president. I still do not know the reasoning behind it.
From the 1224 correspondence: the next, least-worst option for preserving pilot work rules and pay was to have them flown by Atlas”
This statement is fact, and in my opinion illuminating in the ultimate goal for Atlas.
My post was to highlight the fact that although Abx and Atlas reside in the same union, Abx pilots should be concluding some kind of altruism is going on here with the rhetoric of solidarity and preferential hiring 1224 leadership is trumpeting.
Look at the facts.

Brand X,
In a perfect world your one seniority idea would work. I can assure you however that if 1224 were ever to implement such an idea (that has as much chance as ISIS and Israel signing a trade deal) DHL would simply award any future flying to a non union carrier. You need to think German.

You don't know me; you have no idea what myself and many of my colleagues are doing to fight or oppose this. You're just making assumptions based on the words of one man (wells) and attaching his words and views on the rest of us Atlas line pilots that didn't have any idea what was even going on behind closed doors. Again, we had nothing to do with this.

Since it seems that most of the parties involved in the DHL induced fiasco are 1224 members who are fighting amongst each other for the scraps that DHL decides to toss their way, what we need is a way to end the in-fighting amongst the 1224 pilot groups. What is needed is a 1224-wide seniority list with DOH being used to determine seniority.
That way when Atlas takes ABX flying, ABX pilots can go to Atlas with their ABX DOH intact for pay, bidding and benefit purposes. Now, to satisfy the Atlas crowd, who would probably be junior to most of the most junior ABX pilots, we can fence in the left seat for a few years so that the ABX guys would have to start out in the right seat and then once the fence expires, can use their original ABX/1224 DOH to bid left seat. The same would apply to any 1224 pilot impacted by another 1224 pilot group taking their flying.
It's fair for all parties.

Most young FO with Atlas is 27 years old.
So how about 38 years of fence in the left seat protection ?
I believe brand X will go along with this idea as long as we have years of fence.
