Default 4 ABX 767's going out for bid

ABX currently operating 4 767's owned by DHL. They are going out to bid. Just the start. To try to prevent loss, union must agree to pay cut, restructure long-term disability (dessiminate) and reduce to crew rest to FARs. 2 weeks to decide. Rest of the planes go next. Not even part of the current contract negotiation. Who will compete? Everybody!!! Southern... Kallita.... Atlas.... This will be a free for all. And it's just the beginning.

If there are head rests or any type of creature comfort imaginable then UPS is not interested.

Also if they have clean wheel wells or have been washed in the last several years then its a no go........

Forgive my ignorance. I don't understand the lingo. I can tell your situation sucks, but beyond that I don't really get the problem.

"Going out to bid" = what?

Does that mean DHL is looking for someone other than ABX to fly those 4 jets? Are those 4 jets for sale?

"rest of planes go next" = whose planes? Go where?

everyone "competing" for what?

DHL owns the airframes and the other companies CMI (Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance).

They are 762s, so no interest from FedEx or UPS.

Would K4 be considered scabs if they undercut to get the ABX planes and routes?
