Who is ALPA again? Why don't you propose a payroll cap and see how much support you get from the ALPA members here. FDX MEC through its various incarnations has not fought taking 10% of our BLG and splitting it up between the senior bubbas.

Does the company like it, you bet. Has any FDX MEC objected; no evidence yet.

I hear Pickle is looking for a little something extra to boost his strike fund.

Inventing and not changing a longtime culture are two completely different things. I think you know, that like yourself, I am not a fan of carryover at straight pay. But, it is a misnomer to say that ALPA invented it. It was "invented" long before ALPA was voted onto the property.

Or bid it, don't protect min days off, and drop excess into MU bank.

Maybe, it was in the 1st contract, it was in the last contract, it will be in the next contract. Whether it came with the tiger merger or was part of the Pilot Handbook I do not know. I still say we could eliminate a large part of the bennies of bidding C/O by not giving C/O CIC cherry picking rights to pre VTO opentime and not giving leveling credit to reserve line holders who are flying extra at straight pay. No cost to the company, and would even out the fairness of it all.

It's been at FDX since day 1. In fact, there was a time, pre union, that even volunteer was paid at straight pay. Worse yet...many years before FDX was ALPA, management proposed that overtime should be paid at 50%. Not, 150%...But, 50%!

I just don't like someone stating that I(ALPA) invented carryover at straight pay. That's all.

Speaking of cherry picking after a CIC...if I were to bid a big carry-over and conflicted a single departure trip, then picked up just enough flying to build the line total up to the average BLG for the month. Any downsides to doing that?
