Default Upshiring

Hello All,

I tried to apply with ya'll the last window but couldn't get past the first 6 questions (1000) PIC. Sometime next year that should fix itself and I also have a 4 year degree. Beyond those two main things what makes a candidate competitive over there these days? From what I can gather it seems as though UPS will be slowly hiring for the next good while, any truth to that?
Every time I have given ya'll a ride or talk to ya'll I am always very impressed. Anyway, any info would be appreciated.

I'd love to hear something on this as well. I have been wanting to apply to UPS for a while now but can never figure out when the window is open. Is there some sort of voodoo (beyond knowing someone who is 'in the know') to find out when and where the application window is open?

Whenever I have searched on the web for pilot hiring at UPS, all I ever come across is the FQS position. I have read enough on here and talked to enough UPS guys to know to not touch that with a 10 foot pole. So I guess my question is when, where and how does one apply to be a 'normal' line pilot?

How many shuttle landings do you have? Your prob going to need 3+ to be competitive.

Well shoot! Guess I'll be waiting a while even if I can figure out when to apply!

I've been accused by passengers of landing like a Navy pilot, does that count?....I'm not a Navy pilot....

Air Operations jobs at United Parcel Service

The "normal line pilot" posting will be for a First Officer.

Oh surely they are! I'm assuming the OP is a white male and, if so, my assessment stands.

Got to love HR. I really need to get on ancestry .com surely I'm 1/16 Cherokee or something.

Thanks 'Zone. I check that site periodically and all I ever find listed is the FQS position. I wish there was a way to set up alerts or some sort of watch list. Anyone know if that's possible or how to do it? Otherwise I'll just keep checking back.

The First Officer listing was up about a month ago - it must have been recently taken down. Pilots were reportedly still being interviewed into at least late September.

There is a hiring pool, rumored to be 50-100 people deep, with lots of talk of classes starting in the first few months of 2015. Of course only time will tell if that actually happens, and if it does, how many in the pool will still be available.

I would recommend checking the upsjobs website after the first of the year, and of course, following the Cargo subforum of APC
