You're EASY to dead-head almost ANYWHERE in the world from LAX on very short notice. That wouldn't require "an aircraft on the ramp."

I've done MANY MEM ASTBY's without an airplane available.

Also ... do we still do scheduled aircraft maintenance in LAX? How do you know what airplanes are sitting at the hanger that are available for assignment?

Started my trip by deviating into pvg. I got to the hotel and while checking in was told i would be staying longer than expected… Let the fun begin. We were extended 95:45 hrs. Crew Sch wasn't sure why the operating leg to anc was cancelled (still waiting on answers). This extension interrupted (by two days) my next five day trip and shows two days of sub overlapping the new extended period. If sub is declined does the trip guarantee for the subbed trip go into my makeup bank? and if so is it treated like cec when bidding next month? alpa red pages are helpful but has anyone had this happen first hand?

Have you looked at overage en lieu of sub to see what pays more? I think you have 30 minutes after block in to choose.

If you decline SUB those hours go into your makeup bank as OTP for the rest of this bid month and the next bid month

If you don't use the OTP within that time period they will convert to General Makeup hours and remain their indefinitely until you use them

They are NOT the same as Carry In Conflict (CIC) hrs, and thus cannot be used to pick up trips via the View/Add process in the next bid month

FDXLAGs question is the key issue in maximizing your overall pay

The first 12 CHs of overage is paid at 150% --- everything after that 200%

However, the company will subtract out any SUB hrs knocked and pay those at 100% if you don't decline sub

e.g. You have 18 hrs of overage that overlaps a SUB window where you had a 12 hr trip

If you don't decline SUB You'd get 6 hrs of overage at 150% pay --- then 12 hrs at 100% --- and no OTP hrs

If you decline SUB you'd get 12 hrs of overage at 150% pay --- then 6 hrs at 200% pay --- plus, 12 hrs of OTP to use at your leisure

thank you for the heads up. Declining sub will be beneficial in my situation not to mention more days at home…
