from UPS HR:

Special Announcement Regarding 2007 UPS Pilot Employment Process:

Recently, anyone who applied to the "Flight Officer" position posted on our website in 2006 received a blanket email stating the job has been filled. This is not actually the case. Now that we are in a new calendar year, it is necessary to re-post the Flight Officer position on our employment website www.upsjobs.com for those interested in applying for a crewmember position. Please note that anyone who previously applied in 2006 must re-visit the website and complete a new application for 2007. It is not necessary for job applicants who have already been placed in our hiring pool to re-apply. They do not need to update on-line and will continue to be considered for future class dates.

In addition, all previously submitted Pilot Referral Forms have been maintained and it is NOT necessary to re-submit another recommendation for those candidates you may have referred for employment consideration.

What a pain. I can't even find the "Flight Officer" position in there. My current app is for "Second Officer". Is that one still active?

I can't find the app using "flight officer," either. I'll report back tomorrow.

If your app was submitted in 2006, then it's no longer active... unless you're already in the hiring pool.

Yup, flight officer is no longer in the list. The other day, if you clicked on the "opportunities" tab, then "professional" just below, then there was "air operations" in the scrolling menu and that brought up "flight officer." but it aint there today. As a matter of fact, I cant find any place to apply for any flying type position. Doesnt surprise me either. Hey Dog, can you figure out what is happening with UPS HR and the app process?

I was called today for a 29 Jan FO class. I went in the pool Nov 06 with a second officer app. One of the things I was told was to do before I show up for class was to complete the 2007 application online. Can't figure that out.

Choices were (drum roll): 767Z, A300 SDF, DC8 SDF, 757 ONT. They said I'll find out when I get there. It's all good to me!

Default second officer app updated

I could not locate a "Flight Officer" OR a "Second Officer" in the website's job search. My "Second Officer" application from 2006 is still active and I was able to submit updates to my flight times.

Are you sure everyone has to re-apply???

Dog,

If you could dig around, I gotta couple of things I need help with:

1) I reapplied, and now I have an ACTIVE app (from 2006), and an ONFILE app (2007). I inadvertantly left the international experience blank (I know, I know, but I was in my hotel room and was trying to get the process started), on the flight crew supplement (2007 APP). The '07 Flight Crew Supplement is different than the '06. I can amend anything I want on the '06 app, but not update my '07 version. Is there a means in the future to clear this up?

2) Could you have Phil D. call me?
