Most of the guys who left Suddern for WG went over as Captains on 4th year pay, so prolly a lateral move at best.
However, WG still offers a) home basing and b) management that actually knows how to make money, so in the long run they're prolly ahead, if ever so slightly.

The other run is a Belgium, stops in Africa with a layover in Nairobi, then fly back to Europe. Manufactured goods down, fresh fish and flowers/vegetables back to Europe.

Saw a couple of their crews in ICN last month.... flying an all white MD-11F... they were in the same hotel as we were and they seemed middle of the road on the company. They were complaining about the 20 on 10 off crap as well as the one crew had been sitting in ICN for 6 days....

That's standard business practice for pretty much every ACMI company out there. Suddern once misplaced me for two weeks... in Hong Kong. I mean, I meant to call them up earlier to remind them where I was, but kept getting distracted. Sadly, they eventually figured out where they put me.

They had a good group of guys that got offered the IC class on the 400. But as typical Neff operation they only gave us two weeks to show up in class and almost all of us had to turn it down. They ended up dredging the bottom off 400 typed guys from SAI who didn't want to be in the right seat of the 777 or stay in the left seat of the 737. Only one guy who went is really sharp...TM....I am ex SAI and was the only one in the original class.....Most of the class would never have been LCA's at SAI....Take with a grain of salt, Im happy where I'm at so I wish you all the best. WP is great!

WGA is clearly a step up from sitting 737 reserve in Florence. I'm not sure its a step up from anything else. At least the Neffs always seem to be able to find work for their people and planes.

Yeah, I guess. But it's like an Atkins diet. Works kinda, just can't stay on it very long. Been wondering about this wheels up deal lately. Problem is, the two friends I still got both say I wouldn't last a week.

Here is the scoop as of 2016. They are a ACMI for numerous affiliates. They hire through a company called Aero Partners in FL. Here is the good stuff. Pay is by the day. Yes I said it, by the day. They can work you up the max per month and you get nothing extra. Starting Capt pay per day is $340 and FO is $226 per day. 150% pay starts after the 20th day. So first year flying a heavy MD-11 or 747-400 as a Captain is $65,280 and FO $43,292 The rates are the same on the MD-11 or 747-400. Max Captain pay is year 15 at $117,000. Crews are home based non CASS....What do you all think?
