UPS Flight officer position posted

Hey guys,
Ditto on what you all are saying for me. Finished the 2007 app and was immediately locked out with a "thank you for playing" message. I thought it was because I was unsuccessful last year in a UPS interview, and was just getting the immediate cold shoulder for a second chance.
FWIW, I have int'l experience in all regions requested, 6500 TT, and 4500 PIC, mostly in military and civilian heavy jets. It would be surprising to me that there were more qualified applicants that would render this supposed "Congratulations, you move to the second round" response that I am reading on this thread. And I've already been called once, so I think I fit what they were looking for. Perhaps it's some form of quota system?
Anyway, glad to hear I'm not alone in this confusing system they have at UPS. If I am meant to ever get on there, I'm sure it will work itself out somehow! Best wishes to all hopefuls...

Yeah, it must be a quota system since you are God's gift to aviation.

I got the same thing as everyone else - so what happens if they change thier mind and drop the intl pre-req (assuming thats it) and then you fall into the qualfied range, you get an email or something? What really cooks my goose is that my 06 ap still is accessible and shows active.
No intl here except Canada and Mexico, which does not count according to the Brown pilots I know. Can anyone confirm that?
6000 ttl, 3000 jet PIC, 2 types, 2 LORs, civ check airman/instructor for those comparing quals.

My other friend got the "Thanks but no thanks message" with 6000 TT, 2000 PIC jet, 1 type, 1 LOR, so I wonder if the FE ticket and sim instructor thing is what did it. Who friggin knows? I give up at this point.

BTW, I have an FE ticket also (727's at AA) 2 types and 6 LOR's...so guess what--if you are a sim instructor then you are SO IN THERE!!! Apply NOW!
And, Lil' Jerry--where's the love? I was just giving my numbers and experience in order to figure out with everyone else this current UPS hiring system. God's gift to aviation? UPS certainly doesn't think so! I am happy that you were successful there and wish you a good career...

[QUOTE=Freightpuppy;108465]Ok, this is what I found out today!!!!!
I had 3 friends fill out the application today:
One got the "Congratulations, you need to schedule for further testing" or something like that message.
The second one (who has pretty much the EXACT same experience as the first guy except that the first guy is a sim instructor and has been an FE before) got the "Thanks, we have a lot of qualified applicants blah blah blah" message.
The third one was not even able to fill the whole thing out after answering the questions about international (wherever that is. I don't know since I haven't seen it).
...I'd love to know which category I fall into....I updated the 2007 application and I still have the ability to enter "my job inquiries", where I still see the "active" 2007 application...and I can still click on "select" to change anything on the application...Question, is this what the first guy that you speak of has access to????

It is hard to imagine an application system that would not allow you to update your times and experience throughout an entire year. I am sure the UPS folks are recieving feedback from pilots within that are passing on some of the feedback from this forum. I hope.
Didnt UAL have the same problem when HR developed their system years ago?

C17 Turtle,
Rather than jump to conclusions...were you saying that with your background you are surprised that you got turned down by UPS and not given a "Congratualtions message..etc etc", when others that are less qualified did get a favorable response.
Secondly, did you say you are an American Airlines pilots (furlgd. or active) ?
It might have been just me, but when I interviewed at UPS, I got the impression that they were looking for the best employees, as opposed to the pilot who thought they were the most qualified pilot of all the candidates.
Best of Luck.

Go to this link and do a search for "Flight Officer." I just checked it and the position is not currently showing up. Keep trying and eventually you'll get it. Good Luck
