Default UPS domiciles

I understand the current push is for the west coast and Asian expansion, but do any new hires go to the MIA domicile?

Not yet, but when the next 744 bid comes out I would venture to guess that some of the FO vacancies will go unfilled, so then new hires would probably be assigned to those positions. Another guess is that the new guys assigned to those positions will most likely have plenty of heavy time and long haul experience from their previous lives. Of couse it only my guess but the trend seems to be going that way.

I was on a layover in SDF the other day and met a few of the folks in new hire class. The qualifications of these folks were quite impressive. I have been flying for UPS for a number of years now and after talking to these new hires it dawned on me that I may not have the qualifications they are now looking for in new hires.

I second that - sometimes I think I would have a challenge getting hired today. There were/are a LOT of qualified people on the street or at regionals that are moving up to a Major Airline. Still lots of competition and also less people willing to go to the regionals because the Golden Pot (a job at a major airline - cargo or other) is not as big as it used to be so a lot of people aren't willing to put in the time (lousy pay, lousy QOL) to get to a Major.
