You can talk all the smack you want about AJT, but I'll take their mechanics and maintenance over anything I ever got from AMES!

If AMES maintenance is so great, then why didn't these lease returns come out of C and conformity checks with zero problems? They had the chance to let everybody see how they shine, yet they chose to shove the airplanes out of the hangars as fast as they could to get them on the line. The good part about it is the whole situation provides me much entertainment listening to you guys complain about it.

[QUOTE=WingOffLight;2185327]Has anyone seen anything tangible on this? I have a hard time believing it.
Nothing tangible whatsoever. Laxative keeps stirring the pot with this complete fabrication. Florida West is owned by Atlas Air right now and is for sale for $4.5 million with no current buyer reported. Watching them spool up to an operation of 40-60 B767s would provide great entertainment for all of us on the sidelines. If Amazon tried that approach, they may just abandon the who airline attempt altogether after such an experience.

Absolutely agree.
If they were going to start thier own carrier they would do it similar to what UPS did in 1988-90
I understand the amazon air model and how they are working it to the end user. I personally cant see how it would work in reverse for consumer shipping but if it could...........
Capitalairtran
All the majors lease hi-time engines... There has been a move in the last 5yrs to go in house. I assume AMES is working on the old mad dogs? Most likey because mainline no longer has lifts stands etc for that old NWA pos.. How many they working on?

They are working on all the 717's from AirTran, I think they are working on 6 at a time.
