ATI hiring

That's your point of view. And that of pretty much everyone at 1224 right now as well, I'd guess, or at the very least, most everyone at ABX. I can respect that. But from our viewpoint, ALPA fought to protect the interests of an airline that ALPA represents. A Single Carrier determination would have been the first nail in someone's coffin (ABX's or ATI's), as a full merger would be the next logical step. I wouldn't put money on ABX as the surviving certificate, either. But I also don't see any fair way to merge the lists. I lost enough numbers as it is in our own merger to folks hired after me at our once-sister airline. I hold no ill will to any of them, it's just the way things fell out when the lists were integrated. But it sure is frustrating with each bid! So I don't want to go through it again.
As far as being in the mud? Hardly. We'll see which way the whipsaw goes soon enough.

Seems that ALPA was fighting to keep you apart in order to keep you in ALPA. HAd the decision gone the other way, you would likely be joining 1224 soon.
I've been a member of both and I can tell you that there is no real difference in the two when it comes down to the level of a small freight carrier. They could give a damn about a small airline with 200 freight pilots when their main focus is on majors with 15,000 members paying a LOT more than you and your fellow ATI pilots are paying. Teamster 1224 has the 4 main DHL carriers representing something like 2700 pilots which represent a significant portion of the Teamster airline division. They do pay attention to us because of this.
If you are focused on something as trivial as seniority list merger, you need to step back and look at the bigger picture. IF you were to merge with ABX, the pay, work rules, benefits, and most of all, the opportunities for growth and advancement would far outweigh any loss in seniority that you might see.
Think long range.

OK, please accept my most sincere apologies. For you chowderheads who can't see through a term ("airline" versus "pilots of that airline"), I am sooo sorry for misleading you. OF COURSE, ALPA does not represent an
"airline". They represent the pilots of that airline. Just like IBT represents the pilots of airlines, as opposed to the airline as a whole. Forgive me. It won't happen again.
My thoughts on the likely results of a seniority list merger is just a personal thing. But thanks for offering up our longevity and seniority for the (your...) greater good. It's up to the pilot collective to decide whether they want to switch representation. Not any of you. And certainly not me. Guess we'll have the answer after we see a TA.
And ludicrous - consider personal help on your anger and perspective issues.

As for "perspective" issues, you have shown this man times over in this thread......and I would guess in other threads too, but I'm not interested in your post history. I just don't have the level of obsession that you seem to have.
