BRO AEX SAT CVG/PHX LAS MIA OAK DAL HOME

A lot is changing with upgrades, the most junior guy in fo home basing was a dec 2020 hire. If you don’t get what you want initially within a couple of months you should.

I thought it was “we’re looking into it?”

Prepare to sit at Swift

Big thing to know with iAreo (Swift) is have a second job lined up. Be prepared to sit for 6+ weeks after taking your ride and finishing training. They can't seem to figure out the check airman situation so new pilots sit for months. (June class had only 3 of 8 pilots who had touched an airplane by week 7 of being home, none of which were done with IOE)
Oh, and you will do this on training pay of $2400 because while they have enough to buy 767s and onboard them to the certificate, "Covid" means the pilot group underwrites it with forever training pay and no 401k match.
So, be prepared to sit home and sling drinks or whatever else will earn you money. After taxes and the insurance ($600-1000 per month) you won't be paying a house payment much less actually fully able to live until you hit the line.

Unfortunately the training backlog is also due to shortage of captains and prioritizing them over new hires who need to consolidate. We added 4 more check airmen about 3 weeks ago giving us a total of 17 check airmen. It’s not even 10% of the pilot group yet. Add Margin of error for guys that need more training because they sat around which holds an oe spot for longer.

It’s not a perfect formula guys. I can tell you as check airman we are working a lot and doing our best. The phone doesn’t even stop ringing on days off. They started hiring late and now it’s biting them in the butt. I’m ready for a vacation, you have no idea.

I don’t agree with the training pay program, especially for those that have sat around waiting for Oe and worse been unemployed for over a year. It should go back to what it was before of MMG from day 1. I’m a pilot with a family and with bills to pay and I’ve been there in the training cycle making peanuts trying to pay the bills.

The situation is only going to get tougher as the shortage becomes more aggressive as many of our guys are picked up by the majors in the next couple of months. I predict in sept we will lose at least 10 to the majors and competing carriers.

Swift 192 and 592 in/out of CVG;
What's the story on these flights? Did a search and couldn't come with anything so sorry if it has been discussed already.
Are these cargo flights for the CVG hub? Some sort of Amazon or DHL contract? Didn't see any cargo -400s on the Swift web site.
Appears to get into CVG just after midnight and depart first thing in the morning around 7am, M-F.
Are offline jumpseaters welcome?

Thanks

News sources have it that a crew was assaulted after a “surprise-back-to-Haiti” flight.
Was that a Swift-IAero Crew?
