The 737s are in the DHL system, they don't have a standard route. They are used to cover and fill in as needed in the DHL system. with that being said they stay busy. schedule is 13 on 10 off. Pilots are Based in KYIP.

What's the latest with the 737 operation? Adding any new airplanes or routes? Are the 737 pilots sourced internally through the 727 and Lears or do they hire from the outside onto the 737? Also, are all pilots still based out of KYIP? I think I saw one of the 400s at PHX recently and a buddy with 737 time is interested.

Speaking from the side of Charters (Lears, Falcons, Challenger) and not Charters 2 (72, dc9, 73), people don’t get hired/flowed to fly anything at K2. Only 2 times has anyone ever went over. Once you’re at said group, you’re pretty much there for life...unless you quit. Probably most of the guys are hired off the street with a type already, but i’m not certain.

There’s been noise about “talks” of a flow from K2 to K4. Who knows what the future holds

Came across K2.. reading some comments from previous pages in this thread from a few years ago. Would like some info if anyone can spare a moment..

Says paid housing.. I have wife and two children. Is it a stipend or actual house? Or more like CRASHPAD?

How much flying does the 72 actually fly? Equipment? Efb?

Is there a contract of longevity of employment.

Thanks Jim

jimisawesom,

the housing is for the 727 pilots and flight engineers only when on rotation. no housing for 737 or dc9 crews.
the average yearly flight times are per year 300 - 400 hours.
nothing for longevity.
