Phase 1 of the interview process is an 80 question ATP type test. 80% to pass and be able to get to phase 2. The test is sent as an attachment to an email and you have 24 hours to complete. I would recommend having a FAR/AIM handy.

when you're "on", expect to be on call 24/7 except for your 24 hours off within 7 days.
pay is good, better than any regional out there. $45,000 first year.
hire pilots into right seat only (unless you're a professional flight engineer)
They own ALL of their planes outright, owned by Doug Kalitta, and no affiliation with Kalitta Air (Connies airline)
their 727 operation is 121 and consider themselves an airline, even though most of the flying is ADHOC charter.
They are very very profitable. They fly ADHOC charter, mostly for the automobile manufactures in Detroit. The rate is very high for last second 727 charter. Also fly alot for Boeing and Lear.
1 plane dedicated to horse charters
You're always involved in the loading/unloading process. In cities where there are loaders, you figure weight & balance and tell them where to put cargo. In cities where a truck just pulls up with a load, then you become the loader. Bring a fresh t-shirt. (They pay you $200 in the event you assist in the loading/unloading)
Based in KYIP, company provides hotel or condos (condos are nice)
You commute to work. Yes Kalitta is a CASS airline.
They don't want to pay overtime, so they leave you alone on off days
airplanes in pretty good shape for 727's. Issued your own ipad for electronic flight bag.
Pretty good group of pilots, except for a few Captains that have sold their souls to Management. Hope you don't get paired up with these guys. If you do, look forward to 20+ hour days, and sitting for 10 hours in the plane waiting for cargo to arrive. Some of these Captains have no backbones and won't stand up to managements abuse.
Mgmt is evil for the most part (like any other airline). They try to get away with what they can.
at least a year to upgrade. Upgrades are seniority based for the most part, but if you're labeled a "troublemaker", always calling in sick, or abuse the system, you probably won't upgrade.
It's an "ok" place to hang out for a while if you're between jobs or if you just want to fly the 727. They prefer people who are typed in the 727 or have experience in it.
teamsters about to be on property. Vote results will be available today (9-3). Will update this post later with the results
