Last year when I talked to the head of HR, she said 5000tt was the magic number even if you already exceed the required mins. So, IMHO, if you have 5k+ you're competitive.

I have 12500 hours, 2600 jet pic, with heavy time, glass time, over 350 Atlantic crossings, and I'm current on the 747-400, and have over 9000 hours of part 121 time. Alas, I am 58 going on 59, and had a 4 year break in service. Think they'll call me?

Can most of the other crewmembers that you fly with stand being in the same cockpit with you on a 15 hour trip?

you have a huge upside. no, not your experience - that they'd only have to pay you for 7 years! I did hear of another geezer (mid-50s) being hired in the last go-round. Good luck!
