Caesars put out a bid for Laughlin, Tunica, and Atlantic City. Didn't Republic get it with the E190?[/QUOTE]
correct republic got it with the E190. Xtra is filling in in ACY for a couple of months.

I've heard the Republic Gold contract is very much in doubt. Problems include:
- low number of hours on the aircraft
- the need to move planes to PIT for maintenance. Without enough scheduled flights, deadhead costs will be high
- the previously noted fact that Republic was unaware of their ground responsibilities
- the planned use of the EMB190 in lieu of the 717.
Might not be a done deal. We will see in January hen it is supposed to start.

Exactly Brother Clamp...this is the "bottom feeder world" and it's not a pretty place to be. Unfortunately, some people make management careers in that pilot cruel universe w/ temp contracts over and over, year after year. Tunica, Atlantic City, Bull head city, San Juan...they will never go away. There is no Honour here lads, but good rumours like "don't worry, I heard ABX is gonna buy us for a 767 op" will get ya every time. Sorry for all the good guys facing unemployment. Speaking of...where is B Foster, and B Reynolds? Cheers H

Republic Airways, Caesars Entertainment Sign Three-Year Flight Agreement - Yahoo! Finance
I wouldn't be suprised if BB took it at a loss just to keep them flying.

Three captains in MIA have quit this month - out of a total of 11! No doubt this is viewed by management as a chance to bring in some former ATA guys as street captains.

The Sky King guys and gals (if there are any gals left, I heard most of the female pilots were fired) need a union so bad it is ridiculous. Not to mention it sounds as if they violated the WARN act during the mass termination. It is my understanding that RW (former ground school instructor) is pursuing that with a vengeance.
RC is NOT the person many of us thought him to be, he deserves to spend the rest of his career in the s&*t bag airline business.
One last thing I heard from someone high up in the organization is that Gregg L. is making a run on the company in bankruptcy. Apparently he has several former customers or nearly former customers that are interested in investing the money to help him take it back, and a personal law suit against the current owners claiming fraud in the last bankruptcy. This is like watching a slow motion train wreck, if you are still there you need to be thinking about jumping ship. All very interesting from the terminated cheap seats.
Good Luck to all you guys left.

Isn't that the TRUTH! JB, RC and PF are simply cleaning out Sky King to make way for their ATA buddies, all you ATA folks should be ashamed of your brothers at Sky King. I heard today that another check airman was fired on trumped up charges, that makes three! They apparently fired a maintenance controller last Friday due to the parts guy shipping incorrect parts to fix an airplane. I also hear that the airplanes are not getting fixed, AT ALL and the FAA is turning a blind eye to the problem.

One day after getting a wing body overheat with only operating pack at FL240 (the other being MEL'ed for the umteenth time), Tim chose to follow the QRH - which resulted in the rubber jungle in the back. He quit rather than deal with the attitude of management. It appears they are going to use this to get rid of LH, who was doing OE on the flight - after having to redo the entire training program because of another management screwup.
The weekly CP update invited pilots to recommend friends who might want jobs at the King. They are hiring because of "anticipated additional flying" or some line like that.
I heard the rumor about Greg. Also heard he called Danny last month asking for a loan because he couldn't pay his mortgage.
Guys, if your resume isn't current, you aren't paying attention.
