The other Atlas thread

We do have our own board and you are absolutely right in your assessment of their post. This is a few individuals who are doing this for their own benefit or the benefit of their agenda. Please don't think this is in any way indicative of the pilot group as a whole. And yes, it's disappointing for me as well.
It is true that 99% of the guys are great to guys to hand with on a layover. Every outfit has their 1% that are jerks, and guess what, it's election season, and that's why this gets magnified.

Only about 23 days left and we all get to live with the results at Atlas for the next 3 years. This election seems to be driven more by popularity than facts and accomplishments. Probably due to the large influx of new hires that don't know the players all that well.

From John A.'s latest letter: "In the last twelve months alone, the score stands at 49 grievances with merit or breaches of contract by the company. That is 49 fouls against 0. How is that “working” relationship working for you?"
So, just what will they do different? This is a BS statement to get you thinking that they will do something different. We are tied to the grievance process, it is in our contract. These guys have no idea of the process and think they will get what they want, whenever they want, and to heck with the process. We will be in for a very long and expensive three years!
Kinda like they have been told by D. W.(1224 Pres.) they don't want to hear it. Within six months, half the transparency promises will be forgotten and the other half will have an excuse "Sorry, the lawyers won't let us"????

Paragraph of the day from John A. "In our Slate, we offer that level of transparency. That is what our pledge is about. One essential element of this transparency is that members of our Exco Board Slate must either voluntarily exceed the minimum standards specified by our By-Laws or this above the minimums policy cannot be enacted. We have never had this offered before and it is one of the key elements of the value added services you will receive if we are elected as a Slate only. None of the other Slates or individuals running for office have offered this before."
Huh??? Talk about political speak! "voluntarily exceed the minimum standards specified by our By-Laws or this above the minimums policy cannot be enacted." Really? But this sale is only good if you vote the whole slate!
This letter has more lawyer talk and loopholes in it than our contract. Not once does he mention his track record as steward????????????????

They only want to have the "means nothing" or already in place transparency pledges that will only last as long as the voting process for the election.
If elected, I can already tell they will be as effective as his time as a steward. You only have to go as far as the grievance list he mentions and see his name doesn't appear next to any of them except the sect 19s on him.
