That said, I don't know why else an entire class would be sent home and told there would be no more training. Especially when a pilot shortage has been given as the reason why their planes aren't flying.

Hoping to be wrong for my friend's sake, but given the recent situation, I don't think I am.
Takes a special kind of Dirt Bag operator to yell pilot shortage hire a class of pilots then furlough them .

Not even close to what the article said. They said exactly what I said several days ago. Doing one scheduled route bi-weekly and charter work.

The 120’s were out of CLT up until this past year or so. I’d say yes, I don’t know if any other 120 operator at SFB

Wow, that's just downright wrong! Did your friend tell you how many pilots were in that class? I trained at FSI Houston last year on the ATR and saw a few Via new hires there but haven't kept in touch.

Default "Pilot shortage"

https://www.kxan.com/news/local/austin/after-nonpayment-via-airlines-will-no-longer-be-operating-out-of-abia/2029437056

They haven't paid the bulk of their employees for the month of May either. Pilots got paid though.

Can't afford to fix any of their aircraft. The one scheduled flight won't return until mid/late June and even that is a big maybe.

This has nothing to do with the pilot shortage. This has everything to do with terrible management decisions.

What a joke. . . the media and public should be told the truth! NOT A PILOT SHORTAGE PROBLEM! For any pilots that were in training in HOU, count yourself lucky you didnt get on with this dumpster fire of an "airline". They got in way above their heads, and so many people told them to slow down growth and catch up on pilots, FA's, get the planes in a good condition to fly, then grow with a slow deliberate goal. They did not do this, and ended up screwing themselves.
So sad actually.

JetSuiteX is hiring both FOs & quick-upgrade Captains on the EMB135. Bases are currently: BUR, LAS, and PHX. We have training classes starting monthly. There's quite a lengthy discussion from past/current pilots on: JetSuite

If you have questions, feel free to send me a PM.
