They pull most of the FO trips that are paired with a LCA before the FOs bid. Doesn't mean they won't pull pilots off the line, I just got pulled off a turn as a CA for the company to do a pair of line checks.
The company would happily throw money at the pilot group to keep the work rules the same. Pay isn't going to be the hardest part of this contract.

Those of us now in our 40s and 50s need to stop asking the “lucky young ones” to temper their appetites because we had it tougher.
The fact is, one has the market one has..no better, no worse. Right now, it’s a great market and anyone who accepts less than the best they can get for themselves is giving up value for no reason.
No employer is going to pay you more because “that’s what I was worth years ago.” It’s a business, so be an economic self-maximizer.
You’re not telling your employer “take back some money, I’m worth less,” are you? You’ll ride the wave up like everyone else. Why should anyone adjust their expectations downward just because us older folks had tougher breaks?
Telling people they should toughen up because “in my day, we had it tougher” is as effective as telling them to skip the internet, antibiotics, fluoridated water and CAT scans because ”we didn’t have that in my day.” Let’s stop with the indoor toilets and electricity, too...
Now, all of you...get off my lawn!!

I very much appreciate what the union did for us over the last few months but the panic is over, we're in recovery mode, and we should be getting back to normal business as quickly as possible, and that includes wrapping up negotiations ASAP.

Any updates with our CBA talks?
I found it odd we didn’t receive anything from the union detailing the negotiations for LOA8 that was allowed to lapse.
I have not been into work for awhile, but all I see are pay cuts while the company grows. Maybe someone with insight can share some views?

I remember when LOA 8 was extended and lots of people where upset because the union did not allow it to expire. Now people are upset because the company did not want to extend it even though the union pushed for the extension. Things and leverage change very quickly in this industry.
