Pro tip… Businesses don’t usually buy other businesses within the sphere of the same failing business model. If anything the regional airlines that want to survive the collapse will diversify outside of 121 regional flying.

realville: commutair is replacing 145s with parked mesa 175s. That realville.

*more* 175s would have to be parked for that to be a reality. UA maxed on anything greater than 50 seats.

and United will transfer all THEIR OWNED 175 to Cummutair

As CA adds a 175 a mesa crj will retire.

This seems to be the most plausible scenario to me. Sure, it doesn't make for juicy crew room gossip. But United just cannot afford to lose any regional lift at this time. It would allow Mesa to better staff the remaining Ejet operation.

Mesa has only $48 million in the bank. They just lost that much in the last 3 months.
