We are at 340 pilots now.
C5 late last year before the ERJs came was running around 9.0 pilots per AC.
We are going to be a 40 airplane company. Thats 360 total pilots needed. They need to get the option for 20 more ERJ signed and announced ASAP.
Anyone who says we are going to be 600 pilots is assuming we already have that option signed, and that we are going to go to 10/ AC.
The real question is how many dashes will be flying after we take the 40th ERJ and have not signed the option for 20. That ends in Furloughs.
I don't mean to sound like a downer, but the gravy train here is definitely leaving the station unless things change.
Good points; some here would disagree though.Originally Posted by hslightnin
If you come as a DEC you will be on reserve for a long time. (Reserve rules are less than 1 page in the CBA, and its the worst in the industry ). QOL for people coming starting in December will not be great. We are at 340 pilots now.

The reserve rules are not worse than most other places. I have been on reserve at another airline and I find that at least here you can have more flexibility.
We are getting the 40 ERJs, it is a rumor that the option for 60 will be exercised, plus possibly even more. There will be a 3rd base opening late next year. It hasn't been announced/decided yet, but it will be a UAL hub.
All that said, C5 is a good place to be, and the movement/growth isn't slowing down at all. It's still prime time to come aboard now.
