Stop comment like a silver medallion passenger, you know nothing there.
Flew with all 3 of the flight attendants very solid people, yes 3, one of them was on a line check. |

Since this was such a serious “accident” this will now go on the CAs record. Sucks for that but everything was done by the book this shouldn’t be a bad thing

Aside from not having suspended the drinks service? Sure
Let’s use our head here. Do you really think the crew would have allowed service had they known about it? |
I was flying yesterday... Going east.. On the way out of lax.. It was continuous light with occl moderate which is whatever.. But then it would be really smooth followed by nasty moderate. 30 min into the flight the FAs were like... Hey it's pretty smooth.. Still want us in our seats? I said.. Yeah... But... I don't know... We're still in the weather maybe we should wait */Jolt Jolt/* --more moderate. It was like that all the way to ABQ at all altitudes. We ended up in the very low 20s to get some relief.
On the way back.. The mountain wave turbulence was nasty and widespread .. Continuous light w/occl moderate lasted for no joke like 1:45min even at the "best ride" altitude. Once that was over we had some smooth air for maybe 45 min then we got to LA and it picked up again with light to moderate. We minimized it by flying at crazy low altitudes. ATC said their best ride was below FL200. In the 30s the jet stream was shearing and the clouds had all kind crazy shapes when you could see it. Not saying I was where the crew was and know what it was like where they were.. But with the wind strength and shearing that was everywhere yesterday I'm not surprised it produced some dangerous spots of severe.. And I absolutely believe it could have been smooth with sudden severe. Some of you will say *cool story bro* and you know what? It is a cool story... Bro |
Maybe they'll finally get us decent weather information now. My last carrier, years ago, gave us chart graphics that showed the jet stream, and sigmet areas among other things. Not the walls of text of "from x to y to z" that you have to interpret and usually don't have time to until airborne anyway. How about giving us access to real time wx data via the ipad app on the in-flight Wi-Fi, via a dedicated crew access portal like other airlines curently have? It's unacceptable that passengers in back have access to better real time wx information on their phones than us. Yeah yeah, costs. This place excels at saving a penny in the short-term only to have to spend a buck later on because of it.

First of all, BLS for Pulitzer.
Secondly, if today was any reflection of yesterday, yesterday’s wild event is totally understandable. Dispatcher had us at 210 to avoid the MOD SIGMETed SFC-180 and MOD/SEV 180-380 all the way from SEA-SNA. 210 sucked, so we asked center for better. We ended up taking 290 to get over and around a thunder storm. 290 was perfectly smooth until we got rocked suddenly before the descent. Fortunately, because of the SIGMETs, we had the FS sign on ahead of time. Weirdly, we had SIGMETs (caca textual ones). It seems our homies yesterday were not so endowed with the infos. Note: anyone who suggests the pilots were negligent is either a troll or a leech lawyer. Cool story, bro. |
Interesting article. Here are my thoughts:
-It’s all fun and games until someone winds up with a beverage cart in their lap -In russia drink cart drink you |
