As many of you know, I don't usually share parables.. But here is a parable:

A pilot flies a flight and on the way storms move near the destination airport. He's not sure if he can safely make it. He thinks "I should land at the nearest suitable!" but his FO talks him off the ledge.. "why don't we add an alternate instead?" the FO asks.

They continue the flight with an added alternate and even have a couple back up alternates that, though not on the release, could work as well.. That way if everyone else heads to their listed alternate, they still have back up plan. They brief the bottom line and back up plans, and continue to the airport feeling a lot better.. weary from the decision making, the Captain calls back to the FAs and asks for coke and the snack basket..

The end
Before or after the CA notified the FAs they have to call company when they land?

Turns out catering forget the snack basket. Immediate diversion, air return to LAX.

Actually heard that a new LOE during 12m. You're climbing through 10,000 feet and receive a triple chime from the back. FA informs you that the snack basket was left in LAX. This will obviously be an air return back to LA. Heard a crew continued without the snack basket on board (really?) and subsequently had to repeat the LOE. Refer to the QRH. Black and white. Unless the snack basket is deferred, it's a land as soon as possible item.

Ugh they probably forgot to run the mi-snack chart, too... although I hear they’re about to integrate it into the QRH.
Thankfully we have the enhanced snack basket procedures coming soon as well...

You’re right. It states that if you have ample Biscoff and Kind bars on board, you may continue to your destination.

True.. But this language is weak.. We've had problems in flight stands because everyone is defining "ample" differently.

We also need more clarification in the MEL.. I have been pushing for DR in compliance to change it so we can MEL the SB for "crew use only." that way we have airworthiness relief for when we are down to one basket.

I think we probably need some sort of Snack Basket Irregularity Action Chart (SBIAC)!

Certainly a complex flow chart will take all of the doubt out of the decision making process.

I think the biggest thing CPZ needs to finish before the summer of 2020 is the LOA for snack baskets and contract negotiations on items contained in the snack basket. After that I have a feeling Delta will see what we are worth.

So is this division of critical SB contents going to be on an FO/Captain basis or a PF/PM basis or a straight 50-50? Because I don't see seniority actually needing to play a role in how the contents need to be divided.

Well, not for another few months anyway....

Trying to update comply365/mpilot on the ipad and its asking for a password to sign into the itunes store. Anyone have any info on this? All I can find is an email from 4/2018 basically saying don't worry about updating it but its been over a year now since an update has been done.
