Medical issue for 18 years? That's not easy to explain.

LCC, corporate, or regional lifer are probably his best choices.

Also, I don't think we can overemphasize the need for a good training program. Washing out would mean lifer at Mesa as the only option.

BTW, who do you fly for?
Your unlikely to hear back from EDV, 18 years removed and not current. EDV has classes full until September at the earliest, they are only hiring STEP pilots from their University program and ATL is a senior base.

If hired your going to NYC. Upgrade is 24 months away and they want a 1,000 hours with the company.

You want ATL - SKW is your best bet.

And I qualify for the Industry Experience Credit where I would be paid as a 3 or 4 year FO.

Severe obstructive sleep apnea back in 2001. I had 3 separate surgeries to correct it but none were successful. Then in 2008, I was able to pass a sleep study and sleep latency test and get my 1st class back.

Flew as a contract King Air co-pilot for several months and was offered to be sent to Flight Safety and a CA job on the King Air, but it paid over $20k less than I was making at my non-aviation job, so I declined. The pilot market was not good in 2008, so I forgot about going back into flying because the future did not look too bright.

Speaking of corporate, I spoke with a guy I know who flies corporate here in LFT last night. He has a full time gig on a Citation (not sure which model) and does a good bit of contract flying on the side. Told me he made over $200K this year.

You're at a point where legacies aren't really an option - not because you won't make it there, but because you won't reach enough seniority to have decent QOL there outside the most junior bases.
I agree and have considered this.
Good corporate/charter gigs can be fun, give you good QOL, and pay a decent salary. Either that, or aim for Spirit/Frontier, or be a regional lifer.
This is probably my most realistic best case scenario.

Thanks, really appreciate the advice from everyone.
