Every airline has it's village idiot. Our village idiot is the guy who has been claiming that for a while now.
Knowing him - no, he has not been hired as the new chief pilot for LAX.

If AA cuts the contract before 2023 they still contractually have to pay us for it. So why would they give it to another company and still pay us tens of millions per year? Our Delta stuff is as good as gone but the people running our company would laugh out loud at the idea of AA dropping us.

Envoy has been whining about those jets since the day we got them. Maybe if the Envoy pilot group spent as much time on their resumes as they did poaching other people’s jobs, they’d be moving on as quickly as we do

AAG has stated (not publicly) that they’re done with compass. In light of the Envoy contract blunder, they will likely be far cheaper than CZ to operate. United Express flying on 175 is most likely going to both of the Skywest companies due to their cheap flex-rate cost option whereas they’re not paid as a purchase agreement for capacity.

If I were a CZ captain, I’d be jumping ship to anywhere not lateral. If I were a young FO in my early to mid 20s, I’d go anywhere else. Let me remind CZ that DL tried to squash y’all in 2018 and early 2019 as part of their regional consolidation plan which would have merged you pilots with EDV in accordance with alpa policy.

You can thank TSHoldings for keeping you afloat as they were not willing to sell CZ at the price DL wanted to pay. DL plan was to have all 3 connections fly both CRJ and ERJ for schedule integration. Buy CZ and apply for op cert name change. Okay that’s enough.

I must have been on vacation all of 2018 and 2019 because I don’t remember that happening.

All these rumors. The sky isn’t falling right now. I’ll believe Envoy is opening an LAX base when I see their pilots walking around LA. I’ll believe we lose our Delta flying when I see our first jet get Skywest repainted on the side. It’s all just speculation. I heard this, so and so said that. Who cares until it actually happens. Get your time and get it out. If you’re getting a pay check and flight time, everything is fine.

This. Besides, I don't think a soul comes to Compass who DOESN'T have their apps out everywhere! I think you can count on one hand the number of "pilot lifers" on the entire seniority list. And even those guys aren't going to be heartbroken if Compass goes out of business. No one comes to Compass wanting to spend more time here. Everyone coming to Compass knows the risks of coming here, but also the huge potential for reward too, and so far that risk has paid off. Tons of guys have moved on, and even those that haven't get to enjoy lots more seniority in bases than you would anywhere else.

Speaking of vacation in 2018, didn't Compass take away vacations in November/December that year?
