We have someone new in payroll.. First impressions are good so far. Hopefully it gets better

SpeedChecks360 03-06-2020 11:17 AM

Heard from a pretty reliable source that the AA aircraft are under contract through the end of 2021. Who knows what will happen until we are given more information, but I didn’t get the impression that they are going anywhere immediately or at all.

Same way TSA got their planes pulled. Of course no idea on the contract specifics, however TSA also had a contract. With the current hit Airlines are taking , time will tell if continued consolidation happens.

Although FWIW didn't TSA have major staffing troubles? We aren't having extreme staffing troubles.... Yet.....

Operating only 20 planes might cause major profitability problems. That's another reason to shut down an airline.
hope you guys dont suffer the TSA fate.

Everyone absolutely losing their shizzle over on the Facespace over the Seattle Times article about the “layoffs” in SEA. It’s like no one has ever heard of a Warn notice and doesn’t understand its part of the legal process when you close up shop for more than 100 people.

Because the company has been so transparent... do you blame them?

I am scratching my head as we all knew Delta flying was ending by June 1 - so bases would be closing..

My thoughts -

Stock market will continue to struggle this week.

Call on Thursday will contain nothing of importance and will also include a conversation on how this corona virus will affect the rollout of the new announcement/partner. But “we are optimistic as ever”.

My prediction: compass has the same fate as trans state. Our 20 AA go to 00. We finish up operations prob JAN21

or

TSH combines us with gojet for staffing

At this point anything beyond “working on a new deal” is going to need to be said with literally every major airline reducing flying , stopping classes and hiring. No way a new deal is coming in the current market / virus situation

Yeah I'm bracing for the worst.. I've already revised my career goals from being able to afford freshly-sliced deli meat and organic avacados to simply having a job.

Hey silver lining here - At least if there isn't an actual deal being brought forth maybe they'll be honest about it since a mass exodus isn't really possible anymore. *cries*

Someone make a "CPZ was all effed up and freaking out before it was mainstream" meme

Any anecdotes of those who were leaving and put in notice now not able too with classes halting ? Not having movement and now appears a decent loss of aa flying next month makes me wonder how little rsv flying will be had

yeah.. I was wondering if this would slow our attrition enough to start furloughs.. Having 50 people leave every month has bought us all time.. But now what?

Mitchell Gant 03-11-2020 04:53 PM

Anybody notice on the bid packet that they just copied and pasted the duty pairing totals on the DL side from March to April? Like 1 day pairings in April, pretty sure 8+9 doesn’t equal 62 :D

BobbyLeeSwagger 03-11-2020 07:02 PM

So much for cutting back international capacity at the majors! Now we are really in trouble. I'm still confident this will blow over, but the short term seems pretty scary for our industry! I hope compass can get through it without furloughs but I seriously doubt it

We are still hiring full steam ahead at Spirit. We are reducing flying by 3% in April but letter from our CEO stated there will be no reduction in hiring/classes. Still anything can change.

You guys might be the only ones left flying. That'd be awesome for you and the yellow bus, though!
