Compass closing. COVID was an unpredictable out-of-the-blue blow to the industry, but it only accelerated the inevitable. 95% of pilots got here when the company had a fixed end-date to its operation in place already.

Compass closing was never a big deal when there were jobs everywhere. Before covid, the worst case was a lateral or 135. It's a major black swan event worse than 9/11 or '08 is happening right now. And like I said before - had we all left between last fall and now, we would be super junior at the next shop.. Not exactly a safe place to be either as it turns out

I’m not going to argue whether or not compass was going to close or not prior to COVID, because most people stating compass was closing prior to COVID didn’t work at compass and never did. Honestly it’s pretty disrespectful in my opinion to state anything other than condolences for the shop closing, or nothing at all. As BLS said, being junior at any place right now isn’t exactly great either. Just remember companies have to survive financially through this mess, it’s not as simple as bringing back all the parked airplanes.
