It's not quite ACA's contract (in fact far from it, IMHO), but there are certainly a lot of similarities...

I think most are trying to keep the positive attitude about everything. We know it has flaws, but for a contract that was drafted before the begining of the new airlines intended service date I think it is one of the best in history. Most new airlines spend years trying to get a decent contract written and in place. So I consider us fortunate in that aspect.
On a side note it was good to NWA mngmt taking positive steps towards helping the mainline guys out too.

Pay in Training

What is the pay in training especially since they are moving to home based CBT?

Thanks!

Thanks!

Pay is based on 75 hours a month at F.O. pay.

23.18 x 37.5= $869.25 (Paid 2x a month or $1738.50 a month)

During the time spent in YUL (Appx 40 days) you will also get $37.20 per day in per diem. (This is non taxed per diem obviously) This means the month in YUL you will get:
$1738.50 (before taxes) + appx $1100 non taxed = $2838.50 gross pay

-Hotel is paid in YUL
- All have been at the Marriot Residence Inn. This is a ver nice hotel. Has
full kitchen, including dishes and dishwasher. Most have been buying
groceries and eating in their rooms as the restruants in Montreal are very
expensive.

Hope that helps with the run down.

Service starts

Well guys/gals the date for the new service is upon us. The first 2 E-175's will board the first passengers in less than 36 hours. I'm going to cross my fingers and hope for the best with this new start.

The folks that are getting hired lately...The ones that will be typed but sitting in the right seat for a few months...Are they getting CA pay or FO pay?

FlyerJosh 08-19-2007 02:56 PM

Everybody that's been hired through July was awarded a Captain slot. Don't know about the August classes. The folks that were awarded/assigned CA positions will (presumbably) get the pay increase at the completion of training.

HercDriver130 08-19-2007 04:37 PM

so are they not hiring pure FO's?

FlyerJosh 08-19-2007 05:06 PM

They probably are at this point. I'm pretty sure that the last classes of new hire captains have been filled. If you plan on applying to Compass at this point, you're probably looking at filling Oct/Nov classes and being an FO for at least 6 months (depending on deliveries). The seniority list is fast approaching 100.

LifeNtheFstLne 08-20-2007 05:11 AM

The August 8 class was the last class of pure CA's. We were told the classes are full for the remainder of the year... HOWEVER - many people aren't showing for class now that some other options are opening up in the industry and all the Mesaba guys stopped jumping ship now that they got their own flow-up agreement in place. For potential F/O candidates - they may lower the hiring mins again soon.
