They are going to be really hard pressed to find people which leads me to believe that they will get sold to pinnacle or someone else or combined with mesaba becuase with the majors hiring people are leaving and once again, why go to a place that is going to make you wait 30 months to to go NWA when you could get there off the street faster. Plus, if you get hired at NWA and then furloughed, then you go to compass, so why not get there that way hahaha.

That is correct...they said since I will be based in MSP, they will not provide travel passes to the medical exam or to training. I am responsible for getting to my base. I would have to buy two round trip tickets, or drive. I would have to be in MSP for training for only one day, then come home to study so a car would not be beneficial for that short of a time. Also, I would have to be in MSP a week earlier for the medical exam.

Dilemma: applied to NWA on day 1 of class at Compass. Bear in mind that most of us took jobs at Compass with the understanding that NWA wouldn't be hiring for quite some time. About to head off to sims and got the request for further info. from NWA, I would imagine to schedule an interview. When they see an updated resume with me working for Compass - are they going to pass right over me? To avoid waiting 30 months would be niiiice, but I may have shot myself in the foot this time...

Just call HR and ask them to schedule your medical the day before the first day of class because your out of town. That would make it a 2 day trip. What if NW gave CP seniority numbers from hire date at CP. That would be nice and help staffing the small jets.

Actually, not to bring your hopes down, but everyone who applied at NWA that met there mins got that email. They switched to a new computer program that wants everyone to send in their info that way. But, I do see your dilemma if you actually do get an interview at NWA. I think a lot of Compass pilots see that possibly happening to them also.

I have plenty of time, a good amount of 121, a 4 year degree, but am only 22!!!

Got my stuff walked into the chief pilots office there as well by an NWA guy. Still quiet...

Is everyone there ex IDE or something with 5000+ hours? What are the typical times??

Nope. Everyone hitting property now will be an F.O. for appx 6 months or more......I feel like I just said that . Anyway guys The upgrades here will be really hard to predict since some high timers will likely run quick while others might stay for the QOL of the base and seniority. Just some thoughts.

36 a/c = 360 pilots = 180 ca, 180 fo

Compass will have 9 a/c by DEC07. Thats 45 ca and 45 fo. Right now, as I understand it, the seniority list is around 90 and the 90th guy won't get be line qualified until NOV07.

So yes, guys will have to sit as FO for awhile, but since Compass will be receiving 2 a/c per month til DEC 08...then upgrades will happen pretty quick.

I know all 90 guys on property will be paid as CA's once on the line no matter which seat they sit. So, a new guy who is 100 on the list will have to wait until aircraft #20 before upgrade. And a/c #20 hits probably around May. SO, a guy getting hired today needs to expect FO pay until May.

If you are a Captain elsewhere - this is not a lateral move anymore. You would have to want the QOL factors which I understand has been a primary component in Compass's hiring matrix.

Lastly, I'm still a believer NW has something huge planned for Compass - more than 36 a/c. We will see.
