Hey anyone who has started training in the last week or two, what seniority number are we up to now? They have not issued a seniority list for a few months now.

I started July 21st with class in MSP (orientation on July 11th) and my number was 270. I put in my bid for MSP and got it on the first bid award.

How did you figure out your number. I just went through orientation and they gave us an employee ID but no seniority #. Did you get it from the compass online system? Roughlandings, how many were in your class, eight?

Four in my class. I got the seniority # on the bid award.
The following classes are four a piece, too, I believe.

Just had 8 in mine... but based off your # and one class a week the # should be around 280 to 285

Is newhire seniority based on your age in the class?

As soon as the company gets more airplanes from additional NW or Delta flying or added regional flying from another carrier, you guys will be captains in no time. Welcome aboard.

I'm about as gung-ho-CP as they get and I hate to be pessimistic... but I don't really see that happening. At best we could get the "other 18", but then again so could XJ. Post-merger scope doesn't allow for much growth either.

I think more plausible hopeful thinking would be that the NewDAL will need to crank-up hiring, and our flow through will remain in place. That would create some good movement, and would be more sustainable.

I don't think that you are being the least bit pessimistic. The reality is that what you have written is the reality of the situation. If the "other 18" goes based on fuel charges then we are toast. If it goes to the best provider based on on time, completion, customer satisfaction, etc. then we have a legitimate shot. I plan on being an FO for about 20 to 24 more months and I was hired in May.
