Can someone expand on the qol over there? are the trips commutable,(no way in hell im gonna leave socal with this wx we are having now), what is the expected time on reserve? is it true that if you get the job, you are on your own to find transportation to the two day orientation, and no pay at all for home study for 30 days, and they do not cover the hotel for the weeks after the 30 day home study? Do they make you sign a contract for 12k for an emb type? any intel would be greatly appreciated...socal

2. are the trips commutable,(no way in hell im gonna leave socal with this wx we are having now). For the most part depending of where you are coming from.
3. what is the expected time on reserve? Im guessing about 7 months. Every reserves get used, they are pretty much line holders with min days off and not knowing what the hell they will be doing.
4. is it true that if you get the job, you are on your own to find transportation to the two day orientation? Yes.
5. Yes and no pay at all for home study for 30 days, and they do not cover the hotel for the weeks after the 30 day home study? For the nome study you get 15 hours of pay for 30 days at a rate of $23 something per hour. Shame (Best in Class). You also have to pay for you own hotel since they consider you to be MSP base in training and as soon as you are done with training you pretty much either go to MEM or DTW. You will end up paying about $3000+ in hotel cost plus food, laundry. If you are furloughed that would be tough, especially knowing that you are only going to make $17,000 - $21,60 for the year
6. Do they make you sign a contract for 12k for an emb type? When i went through they sent the training contract out with the hiring packet. However, Embraer was paying for the training (10 crews per plane i think) so they could charge you for something that is included in the purchase of an aircraft. Those training contracts are legal anyway. It's a tax write-off for the company and is a fixed cost.

1. Can someone expand on the qol over there? If you are not in the top 0 percent of the list, you get min days off. Some guys have been getting min days off for over a year.
