Will all the LAX based crews be assigned to a specific brand of flying (AA or DAL)? Or will it be a MIX?

Must be a scheduling challenge if so..

Each pairing is AA or DAL specific. Your line for the month could be a mix (my line for May has 2 AA and 3 DAL)

Where's the AA flying taking you to? Any info of routes? Overnights?

There was a leak a while ago but I think most of the cities are bookable on aa.com by now...so it's not really a secret.
Thru may it seems like a mix of:
IAH PDX SFO SAT AUS DEN

Hello…
I’ve been reading some posts about the “fast upgrade”. Based on the current status, on average, how fast are we talking about?

If you have the required 121 time....less than 6 months. Most likely get a captain award during training in the next few months.

Whats the bet of having the Jepps extended another month. 4 days away from the expiration of the last extension.

I'm doubtful of this. There were plenty of guys hired between November and January with 121 time.. And as the guys hired last year with zero 121 time start getting their thousand hours they'll start bidding captain and the upgrade times will grow.

Most of the zero 121 guys I have talked to have between 350 and 550 hours now but they are also off reserve. The window I believe is still there but its now or never. All that said, this is the internet.

Any idea how many guys they want on the seniority list? If so what's the junior captain's number?

Thought reserve was 0 at LAX? Anyone actually experience real reserve times?

There are still people on reserve. Someone has to do it. Its only a month right now. You might get a build up line, consisting of a trip or two then reserve days added in there.

Recently it was pushed back to May 18th....now they say the "end" of May. So, we have that going for us.

Where is the May 18th extension? I must have missed it.

Any LAX crash pads near the beach? El Segundo, Manhattan Beach or Hermosa? I have a buddy starting soon.

Yeah, every month we go that we still get to use our paper Jepps, is a win to me.

At least I don't have to look at a chart that purposely contains inaccurate and/or incomplete information. What a horrible product LIDO charts are.

Why aren't they sticking to the Jepps?

You would be very surprised at how many November and December hires don't have 1000 SIC or 2500 TT.
The bottom fell out at places like express jet and republic. FOs saw the writing on the wall and couldn't bare another year or two of reserve and no upgrade. They left there for here without 1000 SIC.
Upgrade has the potential to be a month or two. Wait until this vacancy comes out before deciding...
We only have 3 airplanes out of the 20 coming. If we don't get more, the upgrades are just starting. Oh and only 20 flows of the 120 have left so far....

How long is ground school/sims/LOE typically taking for CA upgrades these days?

1-1.5 months

Where do the LAX guys fly to?

Up and down the left coast repeatedly, day after day. Every couple of trips you will get an overnight in dfw, aus, mci or something. Every 2 or 3 months you might be able to snag a trip out east to sdf, dtw, ewr or something.

I have a 4 day that day 1 is LAX-DFW-DTW-EWR. With DTW winding down it seems like the trips are starting to go further east now out of LAX

Rama04 04-28-2015 02:48 AM

There's a ton of Texas. My next trip overnights in IAH, AUS, SAT & DFW

Appreciate the info. Since your last stop shows Newark, would you deadhead back to LAX? Or is this for two days then repeat backwards the second two days? Hows that that work if you finish in LAX? Thanks.

I apologise, you stated this is day 1. So, how would your complete 4 days look like? Thank you..

He's just giving you his day 1. The rest of the 4 day will be flying all over with the trip ending in LAX.

Today an Assistant CP said, pilots in initial training will hold upgrade.

Are all four days like that?

In May the farthest east I will go is PHX and SLC. Other landings at GEG, LAS, SAN, SEA, SFO, and PDX.

pylit4lyfe 04-28-2015 12:48 PM

There's an LAX trip on the trade board that has a 30+ hour layover in Minot. I'd say the majority of the trips are up and down the west coast. There's a fair share that are starting to out east some in the middle. We start Fairbanks, AK in September. I've heard initially it's going to be an out and back but not sure how that will work out. It's something like a 9pm show time, a 90 min turn in FAI, then a 2am dept back to SEA.

It is cheapest for the company to do it that way now. With the ADTG it would have paid a minimum of 9:30 hours for the turn since it was over two calendar days. Not it will pay a minimum of the block time of around 7:30 hours. If a crew layovers in FAI for MX or another reason, they can get a minimum of 8:00 hours, since there will not be a calendar day, with no duty, that triggers the 4:00 hours of add pay. The trip would operate over 3 calendar days, but the 2 duty periods operate on all 3 of them. With the ADTG, that would have paid a minimum of 14:15.

Now queue all the ADTG haters ;)

On another point, people will have to make sure they are on top of their body clocks on this one. If it is a turn, there is no 3:00 hour minimum at a hotel that a Split Duty provides.
