Wow. Was this for July 1 effective date or August 1?

This was a small August one of 8 upgrades. I think they slowed the upgrades to catch up, but we need to be doing at least 30/month. There will be another August 1 bid, that should have 24 more upgrades in it, which could push the upgrades into February and maybe March depending on bypass rates.

They only did 5 or 6 alternates for this bid and it went to January 8. Revisions have been happening on every bid, so don't be surprised to see the awarded DOH go to 12/30 or into January on this initial August one.

The September 1 and October 1 bids will probably be the last big upgrade months of 30/month followed by 10-15/month thereafter. It will be interesting to see how deep those go.

Just curious...where did you see the alternate list? I didn't see it on FLICA and they haven't published the results email with the alternate list yet.
By my calculations for the past few bids, about 45% are eligible for upgrade...bypassing about 55%.
Of course, that could change.

Yes. But very important to note, that it was only for one class - first week of July. June saw 4 classes of 8. The first vacancy was for the first 3 classes and the second vacancy was for the last class of June (effective 7/1).
They've already backed off upgrading 8 per week to catch up and even out with new hire FO recruitment. May had 2 weeks without an upgrade class and june had 1 class less than weeks in that month. This past Monday had 9 new hires. I'm not sure they'll be holding back from 8 per week upgrading anymore. I guess we will find out soon when they post the next vacancy. The last one showed 6/7/15 as an award posting dated. They posted that vacancy with the previous vacancy's award.... So we may have a ton of information very shortly.

Check Compy365. Pretty much everything is going there lately.

I am curious how much a first year FO might expect to bring home each month, and how commutable the Seattle lines are? I would be commuting from Anchorage.

If I want a mid-late Aug upgrade class should I put in for the next one? It seems like the current august bid has July class dates. I still need 160. I'm getting 95+ this month and have already bypassed.

My suggestion would be to not bid to upgrade until you're qualified.

#1) You won't have that embarrassing event that has happend so often already where you have to call Crew Planning and tell them you messed up.

#2) It's what you're supposed to do.

#3) You can still learn in the right seat. You don't want to be too over eager to upgrade, and not be ready. Not saying you're not ready, but from what I've seen lately...a couple extra months in the right seat could help a number of our guys.

You guys think the fast upgrade has come and gone? Has a June new hire missed it, now it'll take 3 years to upgrade? Thoughts?

Its hard to gauge the SEA lines right now since we only have one bid to go off of. The July bid should be out on the 10th. But I still think it will be a few months before the dust settles.
