How do the touchscreen EFIS work on this plane?? Every time I fly, I see that people have been using some touchscreen function on the EFIS. How do I do this? My fingers just smudge it up and have no effect. Do I need to buy the fancy touchscreen gloves they sell in the store?

No gloves required, just wash your damn hands. Sounds nasty if they're leaving smudge marks AND its not able to recognize your touch.

Have you seen horses running through a field on a sunny day? With freedom and happiness flowing about them? That's what it looks like.

Must be former RAH pilots thinking it has the touchscreen that's always on. Our planes have both touchscreen and voice recognition. In order to enable the touchscreen tap the PA button twice within 2 seconds then hold it down and say "ok embraer, enable touchscreen". On the EWTs you can even say "ok embraer, [command] (i.e. "engage autopilot" or even "activate vectors"). This only works with both engines running or a wheel speed greater than 5 knots. I hope this clears up some confusion. It's pretty nifty stuff.

Agreed! There's also a procedure in the QRH in case you forgot! It walks you through step by step on how to accomplish this! Check it out
