Quote: So after the 30 days for home study what is the schedule like for the ground school, sims, and IOE? They told me about 40-45 days. Is that pretty accurate?

Also do they train over holidays?
Making the switch from comair??

Congrats if so.

First week after home study is a week of basic indoc.

Second week is a week of systems review.

Should be about 2-3 weeks of sims after that so 40-45 days seems correct.

My class took 3 months from our hire date to finish IOE but that was over a year ago. Good Luck.

the sept 16th class base award is up on FLICA. Does anyone know when the next system bid or bid for base will be open and awarded?

Hey guys a few quick questions...I'm sure many been covered in previous posts but I'm lazy and don't want to sift through 90 thread pages.

Whats the training pay...per diem plus the min? or just per diem?

Are you paid during the 30 day home study?

APC states 400 pilots on your list. Is that accurate? Does that include recent new hires? How many new hires are they projecting for the near future that they haven't interviewed yet?

trainging pay for the home study course is 15 hours.

once you go back to ground school i think its either you start your 75 hour guarantee, or you get 3.5 hours a day, no per diem as i understand because you are still msp based.

new hires as of sept 16th make up the last 8 people of the 400, 400 is what is currently on the list.

there is a sept 30th class that is full. 2-3 other new hire classes through dec. i think there are openings in each.

Did those study materials we discussed help?
Would you recommend any others?

I don't think I have hours to apply to compass but wanted to prepare for whatever interview I get.

Yes they did. The test isn't really really hard, but it does require studying to brush up things we don't think of/use much, but any pro pilot shouldn't have trouble passing it.

Yes, just waiting on all the background checks to clear, hiring for a class in Nov and one in Dec.

Thanks for the training info, looking forward to getting started. I had a good time at the interview as everyone was very friendly

Anyone continue to work for their current airline during the homestudy? The hr person mentioned that, I hadn't really thought about it, anybody do it and is it advisable? (I sure wouldn't mind supplementing the 15hrs for the 30 days)

Yes, I did. It wasn't an issue.

Yeah I heard of a few that did it but I think they advise against it didn't they? At any rate I would do it and just complete the thing on overnights because 15 x 24 = 360 or unlivable for 30 days in my book.

About the training pay it is the 75 x 24 = 1800 a month. I would think that per diem will be paid during duty or sim tims but at the taxable rate similiar to a day trip since you start and end in domicile but not sure as all the previous classes were in YUL and were paid 24 hours a day for the entire time which was about an extra 1000 a month untaxable which was nice. Either way congratulations to those being hired right now. I see some pretty decent advancement opportunities at Compass for the next 2 years.

Welcome aboard.
